The Sorlaat Partiiat ( Greenlandic for "Party of Roots") was a political party in Greenland .
history
The Sorlaat Partiiat was founded by Nikoline Ziemer on March 15, 2008. The reason she gave was her dissatisfaction with the government's economic policies. She ran in the 2009 parliamentary elections, but with Nikoline Ziemer as the only candidate. The party received 383 votes and thus missed entry into parliament. After the election, the party leader ruled out a dissolution of the party, but switched to the left-wing Inuit Ataqatigiit in August 2010 and dissolved the party on August 6th.
Political orientation
The party defined itself as an internationally oriented center party that advocated a more liberal economic policy, but also more independence for Denmark.
