The Arnat Partiiat ( Greenlandic for "Women's Party") was a political party in Greenland .
history
The Arnat Partiiat was founded on November 6, 1999 in Katuaq in Nuuk by 32 women. She ran for parliamentary elections in 2002. There she received 2.4% of the vote and thus missed a seat in the Inatsisartut. It should be her only choice. In 2005 she stopped taking part and disappeared again.
Political orientation
The Arnat Partiiat served the purpose of better representing women in politics. She pursued social goals like supporting the family, especially women and children. In addition, the party tried to help the weakest in society financially, the homeless and children from problem families. The party also campaigned for environmental protection and sustainability.
