Johannes Kjærbøl

Johannes Kjærbøl (* December 23, 1885 in Copenhagen as Johannes Hansen ; † August 26, 1973 ibid) was a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who held several ministerial posts from 1935 to 1957.

Life

Kjærbøl was born in Copenhagen in 1885 as the son of parish priest Johannes Melleur Valeur (1852-1913) and Julie Severine Hansens (1860-1893). On October 30, 1910, Kjærbøl married Olga Amalie Petersen (1885-1916) in the Sundby district of Copenhagen. In 1917 he married Karna Marie Caroline Nielsen (1899–1969) in Copenhagen. After the divorce he married Gerda Poulsen (1910-1994).

From 1935 to 1940 Kjærbøl was Minister of Commerce in the Stauning III , Stauning IV and Stauning V cabinets . He was Minister of Social Affairs in the Stauning VI and Buhl I cabinets . From 1942 to 1945 he was Minister of Labor in the Buhl I and Scavenius cabinets . Prime Minister Buhl Kjærbøl proposed as a candidate for the Folketing election on August 31, 1945 . After the end of the German occupation, Kjærbøl was appointed head of administration for the German refugees interned in Denmark.

In the Hedtoft I cabinet he was housing minister from 1947 to 1949 and housing and labor minister from 1949 to 1950. He was also the first Greenland Minister in the Hansen I cabinet from 1955 to 1957 . He was a member of the Folketing and held the post of Minister for Building and Health for ten days in 1947.
