Simon Emil Ammitzbøll-Bille

Simon Emil Ammitzbøll-Bille (born October 20, 1977 in Hillerød ) is a Danish politician and has been a member of the Folketing since 2005 . From 2016 to 2019 he was Minister of Economics and the Interior in the Lars Løkke Rasmussen III government .

Life

After completing school, Ammitzbøll-Bille studied social sciences at Roskilde University , where he received his bachelor's degree in 2003. In addition to his studies, Ammitzbøll was politically active and became a member of the Det radical Venstre party .

On October 13, 2008, Ammitzbøll-Bille left the social liberal party Det Radikalische Venstre and in October 2008, together with like-minded politicians, re-founded the Danish party Borgerligt Centrum . On June 16, 2009 Ammitzbøll-Bille announced that he was joining the Liberal Alliance party and left the newly formed Borgerligt Centrum party.

Ammitzbøll-Bille was married to Henning Olsen until his death from cancer in 2016 and lived with him in Copenhagen . He has been married to Kristine Bille since 2017.

On October 22, 2019, Ammitzbøll-Bille left the Liberal Alliance due to political differences. On November 7, he founded the Fremad party together with Christina Egelund , also a former member of the Liberal Alliance .
