from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Guggolz Publishing is a 2014 established publishing house in Berlin .

History and program

The publishing house was founded by Sebastian Guggolz, who studied art history and literary studies and worked for the Berlin publishing house Matthes & Seitz . In 2013 he decided to re-translate works by authors from the first half of the 20th century from Northern and Eastern Europe who had been forgotten. Guggolz gives the reason that "under the political conditions in the 20th century [...] a lot of interesting things went down there".

So far, translations and new translations of the works by Heðin Brú , Michail Prischwin , Frans Eemil Sillanpää , Maxim Harezki , Andor Endre Gelléri , Lewis Grassic Gibbon , Amalie Skram , Anton Hansen Tammsaare , Jiří Mahen , Antanas Škėma , Harry Martinson , Petre M. Andreevski , Johannes V. Jensen , Ion Luca Caragiale , Tarjei Vesaas and William Heinesen published.
