Berlin publishing award

The Berlin Publishing Award is a German publishing award that was first awarded in 2018. The aim of the prize awarded by the Berlin Senate Administrations for Culture and Europe as well as Economy, Energy and Companies is to recognize the work of publishers who “stand out from the mainstream (not only) of the Berlin publishing landscape in the best sense of the word” and who “as Initiators of aesthetic, thematic and manufacturing innovations enrich the Berlin publishing landscape ”. Only publishers with headquarters in Berlin are awarded.

The main prize is endowed with 35,000 euros, and two advancement prizes, each endowed with 15,000 euros, are awarded. The publishers named on the shortlist will each receive 1000 euros. There is an upper sales limit of 2 million euros for the main prize and an upper sales limit of 500,000 euros for the promotional prize. The award is made by a jury based on an application from the publishers. In 2019 the jury included:
