Ulrich Sonnenberg
Ulrich Sonnenberg (born April 20, 1955 in Hanover ) is a German literary translator .
Life
Ulrich Sonnenberg completed an apprenticeship as a bookseller after graduating from high school Andreanum in Hildesheim . He then stayed in Copenhagen for several years , re-founded the Frankfurter Verlagsanstalt , FVA, together with Klaus Schöffling in 1986 and headed the sales department of the Suhrkamp and Insel Verlag from 1993 to 2003 . Since 2004 he has been living as a freelance translator and editor in Frankfurt am Main . Sonnenberg mainly translates fiction from Danish and Norwegian into German . He is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works . In 2013 he and Peter Urban-Halle received the Danish Translation Prize.
