The European elections in Denmark in 2019 took place on May 26, 2019. It was part of the EU- wide European elections in 2019 .

In Denmark, 13 seats were initially awarded in the European Parliament , but 14 seats were elected. 1 mandate holder from Denmark will move into the European Parliament after the UK has left the EU , which should take place no later than October 31, 2019.

Suffrage

The election takes place according to the proportional representation with preferential votes according to the D'Hondt procedure , whereby the whole country is a single constituency . There was no explicit threshold clause .

Starting position

In the 2014 European elections , the Danish People's Party, DF , became the strongest party for the first time. After the election, the DF joined the European Conservatives and Reformists .
