Ludvig Holstein-Holsteinborg

Ludvig Holstein-Holsteinborg , (born July 18, 1815 at Holsteinborg Castle near Skælskør , † April 28, 1892 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish politician.

Life

His parents were Count Friedrich Adolf von Holstein-Holsteinborg (* October 18, 1784; † May 21, 1836) and his wife, Countess Wilhelmine Julie von Revenlow (* 1788) from the House of Brahe-Trolleborg.

Ludvig, Count Holstein-Holsteinborg, from one of Denmark's oldest aristocratic families , entered political life in 1848 as a member of the last Roskild Assembly, was a member of the Imperial Council from 1856 to 1863 and of the Folketing from 1866 .

After the resignation of the Frijs Ministry in 1870, Count Holstein-Holsteinborg, who as Lord Chamberlain was very close to the royal court, formed a ministry made up of landowners and national liberals, under which a bitter struggle with the left flared up until it had to give way to the Fonnesbech Ministry in 1874 . In 1881 Holstein-Holsteinborg withdrew from politics.

After the death of his first wife, he married Laura Rasmussen (* March 4, 1848, † January 1, 1931) at Betzy . The couple had a son:
