Wolfram Lauterbach

Wolfram Lauterbach (born January 18, 1952 in Buttstädt ) is a former German athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR), who took sixth place in the 1974 European Championships in the long jump .

Career

Lauterbach started for the SC Turbine Erfurt , for which his brother Henry later also competed, the 1980 Olympic gold medalist in the high jump. Wolfram Lauterbach took second place behind Klaus Beer at the GDR championships in 1970 , in 1972 he came second behind Max Klauß and at the 1973 indoor championships only Max Klauß was again ahead of him. In 1974 Lauterbach took third place both indoors and outdoors. For the European Championships in Rome, the DVfL nominated Max Klauss, Frank Wartenberg and Wolfram Lauterbach, the top three of the GDR championships. All three jumpers qualified for the final in Rome, where Lauterbach was the GDR's sixth best jumper with 7.87 m, 7.98 m were required for bronze, Valerij Pidluschnyj was European champion with 8.12 m.

Lauterbach's best performance was 8.01 m, which he jumped on May 19, 1976 in Dresden. In 1973 in Potsdam he reached 10.4 s in the 100-meter run. Wolfram Lauterbach had a competition weight of 75 kg with a height of 1.80 m.
