Wolfram Pichler
Wolfram Pichler (* 1968 ) is an Austrian art historian .
Life
Pichler studied art history and philosophy in Vienna and Munich . After completing his doctorate in 2000 at the University of Vienna , he was a visiting fellow at Harvard University (GSAS) in 2000 . In 2003 and 2004 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Art History Institute in Florence . From 2012 to 2013 he worked at the international college for cultural technology research and media philosophy (IKKM) at the Bauhaus University Weimar . From April to July 2013 he was a Getty Scholar at the Getty Research Institute. After his habilitation in 2015 at the University of Vienna with the thesis "Art historical contributions to image theory", he teaches there as an associate professor .
His main research interests are image theory, theory and history of drawing and art since around 1750.
