The wool blanket factory Weil der Stadt was a textile company in Weil der Stadt from 1780 to 1996 . It was one of the leading companies for high-quality woolen and camel hair cloths as well as women's coat fabrics made of wool , camel hair and alpaca . The company's shares were listed on the Stuttgart Stock Exchange until 1996/97 . In 1996 the company went bankrupt .
The company was initially run as a sole proprietorship , then as a GmbH and converted into an AG in 1920 . At the end of the Second World War , operations were shut down. In May 1945, production was resumed at half capacity. According to Annex 2 (to Section 2, Paragraph 1, No. 4) industrial bonds and related bonds of the Act to Mitigate Hardship of Currency Reform ( Altsparergesetz - ASpG), bonds from the wool blanket factory in Weil der Stadt belonged to the " old savings ", for payments under the Load balancing were possible.
