Wollmesheim Forest

The Wollmesheim Forest is one of the two exclaves of the city of Landau in the Palatinate . The forest area is around 78 hectares.

The closest settlement is the municipality of Waldhambach, south of the exclave . The highest point is the Schletterberg with its secondary peak of 517.9  m above sea level. NHN . There are two springs in the forest area that drain into the Wolfsbach .

Originally, the forest area was part of the Rothenburg Geraide , whose joint rights of use lay with the communities of Eschbach , Ilbesheim , Leinsweiler and Wollmesheim . When the Geraide was divided up in 1846, the municipality of Wollmesheim received the area. With the incorporation of Wollmesheim into Landau in 1972, the city of Landau came into being.
