Volodymyr Jewsewijowytsch Kistion ( Ukrainian Володимир Євсевійович Кістіон ; born May 31, 1965 in Dowschok , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian politician. From April 2016 to August 29, 2019, he was Vice Prime Minister for issues relating to temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

Life

Volodymyr Kistion was born in 1965 in Dowschok in Jampil Raion in the south of Vinnytsia Oblast . He graduated from the State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Odessa with an engineering degree specializing in water and sanitation . He also obtained a master's degree in public administration from the Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration in Odessa . After studying engineering, he worked in the private sector in Jampil , where he rose to become company director.

After moving into politics, he was deputy mayor of Vinnytsia from 2008 to 2011 and first deputy mayor of the city under Mayor Volodymyr Hroysman from July 2011 to October 2014 . After the Euromaidan , between October 2014 and June 2015 he was first Deputy Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine in the first Yatsenyuk cabinet , now under Volodymyr Hroysman, who has been promoted to minister .

After Volodymyr Kistion became parliamentary president, Kistion was its official advisor in June and July 2015 and then the first deputy general manager for legal matters of the Verkhovna Rada until April 2016 .

After a cabinet reshuffle on April 14, 2016, in which Volodymyr Hrojsman rose to the position of Prime Minister of Ukraine, Kistion was Deputy Prime Minister for Issues relating to temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in the Hroysman Cabinet . Kistion is married and has one son.

criticism

Some media call Kistion " королем тітушок " ( Korolem Tituschok ; in German roughly "criminal king "), because they suspected him, among other things, of being close to organized crime. He would only owe his successful career to the tandem that he forms with Volodymyr Hrojsman.
