The Wong peak is about 1,600 meters high mountain peaks in the northwest of the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises 2.6 km northeast of the summit of Mount Bird .
The New Zealand Geographic Board named it in 2000 after the New Zealand diplomat Frank Wong (1950–1992), who led the New Zealand initiative from 1989 to 1991 to establish a comprehensive and internationally legally binding regulation for the protection of the environment in Antarctica .
