Coordinates: 33 ° 53 ′ S , 151 ° 15 ′ E The Municipality of Woollahra is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . Woollahra belongs to the metropolis of Sydney , the capital of New South Wales. The area is 12.3 km² and has about 54,240 inhabitants.
Woollahra is located south of the Sydney harbor opening east of the city center. The area includes 15 neighborhoods: Bellevue Hill, Darling Point, Double Bay, Edgecliff, HMAS Rushcutters, HMAS Watson, Point Piper, Watsons Bay , Woollahra and parts of Diamond Bay, Paddington, Rose Bay , Rose Bay North, Vaucluse and Vaucluse Heights. The council's administrative headquarters are in the Double Bay district to the west of the LGA.

The Woollahra Municipal Council has 15 members elected by the residents of the five wards (three each from Bellevue Hill, Cooper, Double Bay, Paddington and Vaucluse Ward). These five districts are determined independently of the districts. The mayor of the council is also recruited from among the councilors.
