history

After its release on June 14, 1986, was pop - ballad in the United States a great success and peaked in the Billboard Hot 100 No. 5, so that the song was the most successful single release from the album Primitive Love . Internationally, however, the song was not successful and only achieved top 20 placements in a few countries.

In contrast to the earlier releases, the group changed their music style with Words Get in the Way , instead of Latin American dance music the song contains traits of a ballad, which can also be found on later releases.

The group later recorded the song in the Spanish-language version under the title No Me Vuelvo a Enamorar . This version was only placed in the American Latin charts, where it was also the first placement of the band. The Spanish version of the song was also included on the international pressings of Primitive Love . Estefan also took this version on her Spanish compilation album Exitos de Gloria Estefan .
