The Sudbury Wolves were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the Eastern Professional Hockey League based in Greater Sudbury , Ontario .
history
The Sudbury Wolves were founded in 1951 as a franchise of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association. In this they played for six years before they joined the Ontario Hockey Association , in whose senior championship they participated for two seasons. For the 1959/60 season , the Sudbury Wolves moved to the Eastern Professional Hockey League, which was held for the first time . In this they acted from 1960 to 1962 for one year each as a farm team of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings from the National Hockey League .
Following the 1962/63 season , the league was dissolved and the Sudbury Wolves stopped playing. A team of the same name has played in the Ontario Hockey League since 1972 .
