The Worlddidac Association is the global trade association for companies that offer products and solutions for all levels of education, training and further education. It is the only global association in this economic sector and brings together over 150 companies and organizations from 40 different countries in the teaching material industry. The Worlddidac Association, based in Bern , Switzerland, organizes trade fairs in the field of teaching aids worldwide in cooperation with local partners.
By 2014, took place in Basel in collaboration with the MCH Group , the Worlddidac Basel held, one of the world's largest exhibitions of teaching materials industry. For the first time, Didacta Switzerland Basel was held at the same time as Worlddidac Basel in 2012 . The industry trade fair, which is taking place at the same time, was primarily aimed at Swiss professionals from the world of education, while the internationally oriented Worlddidac Basel hosts B2B exhibitors. The cooperation with MCH Group was not extended.
In 2016 Worlddidac Association organized the World Education Days and Swiss Education Days in Bern together with BERNEXPO AG. In November 2018, the naming will return to Worlddidac International and Swissdidac. The fair continues to take place in Bern.
organization
The association is steered by the Presidium (now Executive Council), consisting of 10 representatives from the teaching material industry. The general assembly, which takes place every two years, elects the presidium and specifies the basic orientation of the association.
Day-to-day operations are carried out by the Worlddidac Secretariat under the direction of Managing Director Danny Gauch from Bern , Switzerland .

In cooperation with local partners, the association organizes a series of trade fairs on several continents every year. The latest expansion is WORLDDIDAC Astana, which was held for the first time in 2012 in Astana , Kazakhstan .

Every two years, WORLDDIDAC (the next edition will take place in Bern in 2020), one of the most important international industry fairs for educational resources, takes place. The last edition in 2018 attracted over 200 exhibitors and over 13,000 trade visitors and took place at the same time as SWISSDIDAC.
Worlddidac Award
The Worlddidac Foundation has presented the Worlddidac Award, an internationally recognized award for educational resources, for over 25 years. The participants are companies that offer products and solutions for all levels of education. The Worlddidac Award , established in 1984 , is carried out every two years. With the help of a pre-evaluation by teachers and an international jury of experts as well as a clearly defined catalog of criteria, the registered products are rated and awarded. The winners are announced each summer and honored at an award ceremony.
