The Wrightspeed X1 is a sports car prototype ( roadster ) on the platform of the Ariel Atom with electric drive . The Wrightspeed X1's motor is a 3-phase 4-pole three-phase asynchronous machine with 260 HP (191 kW) and a maximum torque of 257 Nm in the range between 0 and 5000 revolutions per minute. The single gearbox has a ratio of 8.25 to 1. The motor and frequency converter were manufactured by AC Propulsion , which also developed the tzero and the EV1 . The vehicle's lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 25 kWh .

The car was built by engineer Ian Wright. In drag racing the Wright Speed X1 suggests even a Carrera GT and other super sports car , causing the car became famous.
