Wulf Twiehaus

Wulf Twiehaus (* 1972 in Westphalia ) is a German theater director .

Life

After a long apprenticeship as assistant director to Thomas Ostermeier (at the barracks of the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz ), Wulf Twiehaus studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Since then he has directed at the Berlin Schaubühne, at the State Theaters in Mainz and Cottbus, at the Schauspiel Leipzig , at the theaters in Potsdam, Heidelberg, Magdeburg, Aachen, Erlangen and Bremen as well as at the Krétákör Theater in Budapest and at the Kamerni Teatar 55 in Sarajewo . From 2007 to 2010 he was senior director at the Stadttheater Konstanz . Since then, Wulf Twiehaus has been working as a freelance director and in-house director at the Konstanz Theater.

His directorial focus was initially on world premieres, as well as modern classics. Increasingly, he also staged the great classics (such as Schiller, Goethe, Shakespeare). In addition to his directorial work, Wulf Twiehaus worked several times as a guest lecturer at the Hfs "Ernst Busch", the Berlin University of the Arts and the Helsinki and Malmö theater academies.

Since the winter semester 2012/13, Wulf Twiehaus has also been an acting lecturer and mentor for the "Acting" study years 2012–2016, 2015–2019 and 2019–2023 at the Academy for Performing Arts in Ludwigsburg. In 2018 Wulf Twiehaus was appointed honorary professor.
