Wuppertal poets' circle

The Wuppertal Poets' Circle , also known as the Wupperbund or Wuppertaler Poeten , consisted of seven poets in the 19th century. They had come together to form a group of poets in the 1850s . These included the merchants Reinhart Neuhaus , Emil Rittershaus , Friedrich Roeber , Adolf Schults , Carl Siebel , Karl Stelter and the bookseller Hugo Oelbermann .

The Wupperbund of the 1970s

At the beginning of the 1970s, a literary workshop was founded in the Wuppertal adult education center, which was compared in the regional press with the “Wupperbund” of writers from Wuppertal in the mid-19th century. This new "literature workshop" took part in the founding of the nationwide constituting " work group literature of the working world " in Cologne in 1970 and then had it at a large gathering of its member "workshops" in Wuppertal as part of the inter-municipal festival "URBS '71" Vohwinkel as a guest.
