Wyantenock State Forest is a state forest in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the parishes of Warren , Kent and Cornwall . The forest is Connecticut's least developed state forest with no significant tourist facilities. The parcels originally belonged to the Mohawk State Forest .
geography
The forest consists of nine scattered parcels in the catchment area of the Housatonic River and Shepaug River . The surrounding sanctuaries are Housatonic Meadows State Park , Mohawk Mountain State Park , Warren Woods Town Park , Lake Waramaug State Park , Iron Mountain Reserve , Pond Mountain Natural Area , Kent Falls State Park . The largest elevations include Woodbury Mountain ( ⊙ , 460 m) and Peck Mountain ( ⊙ , 454 m).
