Lake Waramaug State Park is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the area of Kent , Litchfield County on the north bank of Lake Waramaug . The land with around 38 hectares (95 acres) was acquired by the state as early as 1920. The park is a popular destination, especially in autumn, when the autumn colors bathe the surrounding forests in spectacular colors. There are also opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and camping. Toilets and a boat ramp for canoes and small boats are available.

Surname

The name of the lake is derived from an Indian chief who had his summer camp in this area.

The park is located on the northwesternmost bay of Lake Waramaug , across from the Arrow Point headland . The waters belong to the catchment area of ​​the Aspetuck River .
