Wyoming Public Radio
Wyoming Public Radio ( WPR - Wyoming Public Media Statewide Network ) is the nationwide public radio network in the US state of Wyoming . Licensed to the University of Wyoming , WPR operates as a spin-off from UW. The flagship is KUWR-FM .
history
1,966 students and employees applied for the Student Union a radio license from the FCC to come up with KUWR to go Wyoming's "Educational FM station" on the air. A little later, the Public Broadcasting Act was passed in Washington, which raised National Public Radio from its cradle. KUWR became Wyoming Public Radio and one of the first NPR members. Wyoming Public Media was later founded, uniting the television division and the WPR.
