XLAM: Lutschaja Belaruskaja Alternatiwa ( Belarusian XLAM: Лучшая беларусская альтернатива 'XLAM: The Best Belarusian Alternative' ) is a compilation album by Belarusian alternative bands, which was released on June 11, 2006 by the XLAM.by portal on the GO-Records label.

Background and publication

Work on creating an artist list on the CD began in February 2006. When selecting the bands, attention was paid to the unusual nature of the musical material and the quality of the proposed titles. As project coordinator Dmitry Dmitriev said of Naviny.by , the main condition was to be "a Belarusian band that plays high-quality, extreme and honest music and looks for its listener".

The aim of the compilation, as the publisher indicated, was to discover new names in alternative music . The edition was supposed to be 1,500 copies, of which a third was intended for distribution on the Russian market.

The presentation of the CD with the participation of a number of bands whose works were included in the compilation album, found on the day of its publication on 11 June 2006 in Homel place while the Ukrainian band Skinhate became the invitees will headline the party.

reception

The song " Открой меня " by Пневмания was highlighted in the review by Musykalnaja Gazeta , while the band ONEGIN disappointed critics. Maxim Schukow of the music newspaper later characterizes the CD with the adjective "rich".

Sjarhej "SB" Budkin from Tuzin.fm and Nascha Niwa called the CD an alternative to the project " Вольныя танцы: альтэрнатыва by", while the music was described as "expressive, aggressive, with nerves and screams interwoven".
