The first mention of the place with a fortified church can be found in 1074. The next time the church is mentioned in 1653. The nave was destroyed by fire in 1780 and was rebuilt in the same year. The big bell that was purchased at the time had to be delivered in World War I. The bell acquired in 1795 has been preserved to this day.

The church has a choir tower that tapers towards the top. The small nave was rebuilt after the fire of 1780 with a steep, hipped mansard roof . The first floor of the tower is covered with a barrel vault. There are high arched windows on the east wall and arched curtain windows on the south wall. The choir is opened to the nave through a round triumphal arch . A wooden barrel vault covers the nave, which is equipped with two-storey, three-sided galleries .

The positive with 3 registers was acquired from Schönefeld Orgelbau in 1979 .
