Xabier Castillo Aranburu (born March 29, 1986 in Durango ) is a Spanish football player who plays for UD Las Palmas .
Player career
Xabier Castillo started his career as a footballer with the traditional Basque club Real Sociedad . From 2004 to 2006 he played there in the B team in the Segunda División B . He was then awarded to the second division promoted UD Las Palmas , where he was able to prevail and earn a regular place. After a great season and relegation with Las Palmas, his now relegated club brought him back and promoted him to the first team, which was now relegated to the Segunda División . Xabier Castillo was also able to prevail there and came to 71 league games in the following two years. In 2009 Castillo moved to the Primera División for Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao.
