Xenos
Xenos (from the Greek ξένος, xénos , "foreign"; noun: the foreigner) was launched as a sub-program of the Youth for Tolerance and Democracy action program launched by the German government in 2001. It was nicknamed "Living and Working in Diversity" and ended on December 31, 2007. The follow-up program "XENOS - Integration and Diversity" started in 2008 and was scheduled to run until 2014.
Tasks / funding priorities
The eligible measures are assigned to a total of four funding priorities:
- Integrated local projects, mobile advisory teams and pools of experts aim to promote local and regional cooperation
- Openly show commitment and hospitality (e.g. acceptance of foreigners)
- Measures in school, at work and in the company complement existing projects
- Training in social skills
