Xiangshui
Xiangshui ( 响水县 , Xiǎngshuǐ Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture-level city Yancheng in the Chinese province of Jiangsu on the east coast of the country. It has an area of 997 square kilometers and a population of 575,300 (2004). Its main town is the Xiangshui community .
Administrative structure
At the community level, the district is made up of eight large communities , a state farm, a state saline and a development area. These are:
- Greater community Xiangshui (响水镇);
- Greater community Chenjiagang (陈家港镇);
- Greater community Dayou (大有镇);
- Greater community Huangwei (黄圩镇);
- Nanhe Municipality (南 河镇);
- Greater community Shuanggang (双港镇);
- Greater community Xiaojian (小尖镇);
- Greater community Yunhe (运河镇);
- Huanghai State Farm (黄海 农场);
- Guandong State Saltworks (灌 东 盐场);
- District development area (县 开发区).
economy
Traditionally salt was extracted in the region, nowadays the district is an important location for agriculture, which accounts for about 30% of the economy and income. The main goods sold are rice , cotton , fruits, livestock and vegetables. In addition, over 200 seafood is produced, mainly fish, crabs and shrimp . The industry is still underdeveloped and focuses on textiles, chemicals, food and pharmaceutical products.
