The Xie Chi or Xiechi Lake ( Chinese 解 池 , English Xiechi Lake ), which is also called Yuncheng yanchi ("Yuncheng salt lake"), or earlier Hedong yanchi ("Hedong salt lake"), is the largest lake in Shanxi . He is a salt water lake and Grabenbruchsee (Riftsee). It is located at the northern foot of the Zhongtiao Shan Mountains south of Yuncheng in the southwest of the Chinese province of Shanxi. The lake is famous for its salt production, the so-called Xie Salt (Xieyan). It has a very long history.
