Xinchang ( 新昌县 , Xīnchāng Xiàn ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Shaoxing in the Chinese province of Zhejiang .

Attractions

Dafo temple

The Dafo Temple (Xinchang) is one of the main attractions Xinchangs. Located close to the city, the area of ​​the temple offers a larger green and rocky park for walking. A little higher up in a cave is a large reclining Buddha carved into the rock. In addition, there is a smaller, probably very old cave in the park with several smaller Buddha statues and other buildings. It is reported that during the Cultural Revolution under Mao some cultural goods (statues) were brought into this temple and protected.

Chuanyan 19 summit

The Chuanyan 19 peaks are located in the southwest of Xinchang. Part of these 19 peaks can be ascended using a system of stairs and walked along the rock on a viewing path including a glass platform.
