The Xiyue Miao ( Chinese  西岳 庙 , Pinyin Xiyue Miao , English Xiyue Temple ) is located at the foot of the Hua Shan Mountains (the Great Western Summit , Chinese Xiyue西岳) east of the large community Yue (岳 镇) of the city of Huayin in the northwest of the Chinese province Shaanxi . Here the emperor sacrificed to the god of Hua Shan. Its splendor is compared to that of the Imperial Palace in Beijing and it is called the "Forbidden City of Shaanxi".

The temple was originally built in the time of Emperor Wu ( Wudi ) of the Western Han Dynasty and renovated several times in subsequent dynasties. The current buildings date from the Ming and Qing Dynasties .

The Xiyue Miao ( Xiyue Temple ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-126) since 1988 .
