Xotox ( spelling : xotox ) is a music project that was founded in 1998 by Andreas Davids (* 1972) from Paderborn . The music consists primarily of technoid beats, short and memorable melodies and interspersed samples.

history

In 2003 Xotox was signed by the Pronoize record label . The on the album Lichtlos contained Track iron killer became a club hit. The album itself made it to the top of the DAC (German Alternative Charts) as the first rhythm 'n' noise albums.

The album [PSI] released in June 2005 reached second place in the DAC and held that position for three weeks.

In 2006 Xotox published his first live album "Documentation 1: Sound".

In den ten Morgen (2008) reached # 1 in the DAC and held that position for 6 weeks.

In May 2008 Vendetta Music released Hyperactive - The Best Of, an exclusive North American release, as an official licensed product from Pronoize.

In 2009, We are deaf, a split CD by Xotox and Detune-X, was released as a jewel case version and limited box set with the permission of ProNoize on the Italian label Rustblade.

In March 2010, Die Unruhe 2.0 appeared as a re-release of the original from 2004 with all original titles and an additional 2 previously unreleased tracks.

In 2012, Xotox celebrated ten years of Eisenkiller with a specially produced EP. The EP was limited to 1000 copies, 300 of which also appeared as a special fan edition with a hand-numbered, hand-beaten rusty metal plate with a lasered logo.

In 2013, Schwanengesang, the fourth official album was released on ProNoize in two formats (standard jewel case version and limited double CD in digipack). The album reached number 6 in the DAC and number 12 in the EAC (European Alternative Charts).

With Redux from 2014 a release on vinyl appeared for the first time. For this add-on to the 2013 album Schwanengesang , remixes by Suicide Commando, Monolith, Kiew, Ambassador21, Mondträume, Sci-Fi Industries and Aehm were made, and Redux also contains the previously unreleased Ritmo diabolico and the rare Guardian Angel . This 12 ″ vinyl is limited to 300 copies worldwide, 100 of them in red vinyl. "Redux" reached 3rd place in the DAC.

In 2016, Essentials was released, a double CD with selected songs from the previous creative phase on the ProNoize label and rare and previously unreleased tracks and demo versions, plus some new remixes.

In 2019, Silent Shout, an EP with new songs and remixes by Schwarzwald, Autoclav1.1, Defaults, Sci-Fi Industries, Loss and Nyppy was released. The album reached number 6 in the DAC.

In June 2019 the first purely digital single release from xotox was released with Paleodisco (Club Edition) . In addition to a club mix and a technoid version of the title track, there are remixes by Tonriss, Yura Yura, 16Pad Noise Terrorist, Denny Engler and Hirte Kalbalikum, as well as a collaboration with Toys no more. Paleodisco reached number 13 in the DAC.

In November 2019 xotox switched to the record label Infacted Recordings.

UFO (January 31, 2020) andproblem child (April 17, 2020) will be released as digital single and as a harbinger of the new album.

Yesterday , the debut album on Infacted Recordings, will be released on May 8th, 2020. As a bonus, the double CD contains the complete (!) Single UFO , as well as additional, exclusive remixes and songs.
