In the form of comic strips , scenes, characters or events from the original video animation from 1990 are parodied. The figures appear in a chibi shape, in other words, caricatured in a belittling way. Publication of the manga

The manga was published in three volumes by Kadokawa Shoten from June 1997 to May 1999 . Central Park Media brought out Welcome to Lodoss Island! two volumes in English.

Anime movie

On April 25, 1998, a manga film was released in cinemas in Japan as a double feature with Maze Bakunetsu Jikū : Tenpen Kyōi no Giant ( MAZE ☆ 爆 熱 時空 天 変 脅 威 の大 巨人ジ ャ イ ア ン ト). The 35 minute long anime was directed by Kōichi Chigira . The character design comes from Akemi Kobayashi and Kōichi Usami.

Divided into pieces about two minutes long, these were shown again as a bonus after each episode of Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight .

The German magazine MangasZene describes the manga as a successful parody of the anime Record of Lodoss War , which is "an absolute must for Lodoss fans" . But even for those who do not know the anime, most of the jokes are understandable.
