Career

Akimoto learned to play football in the youth team of Yokohama F. Marinos . He signed his first contract with Yokohama F. Marinos in 2006. The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For the club, he completed five first division games. In 2012 he moved to the second division Ehime FC . For the club he completed 83 league games. In 2014 he moved to league competitor Shonan Bellmare . In 2014 he was with the club master of the J2 League and rose to the J1 League. For the club he completed 76 league games. In 2016 he moved to league rivals FC Tokyo . For the club he completed 34 first division games.
