Y108 Rocks (CJXY-FM) is a privately owned radio broadcaster based in Burlington , Ontario , Canada . The station is operated by Corus Entertainment and broadcasts Mainstream Rock on the frequency 107.9 FM with an output of 26,100 watts.

history

In 1948 the transmitter started transmitting as FM 94.1 simultaneously with the second CHML transmitter. The dual operation of the transmitter was interrupted in 1950 and partially discontinued. In 1964 the operator undertook a relaunch of the station on the 95.3 FM frequency. In 1974 the transmitters were taken over by the company ML Radio. As a result, the subsidiary Western International Communications was formed. In 1991 the rock music format was introduced. In 2000, the stations were taken over by Corus Entertainment.
