YahSat 1B is the name of a communication satellite . The operator is the Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) based in Abu Dhabi . The system consists of two satellites: YahSat 1A and YahSat 1B.
mission
YahSat 1B was launched into space on April 23, 2012 10:18 pm on board a Proton-M , YahSat 1A was launched on April 22, 2011 with an Ariane 5 ECA . YahSat 1B was positioned at 50.5 ° East in geostationary orbit above the equator and is intended to provide communications services to the Middle East and North Africa from there . The satellites serve the commercial market on the one hand, but also provide capacities for government needs on the other.
