Yasuo Manaka ( Japanese 眞 中 靖夫 , Manaka Yasuo ; born January 31, 1971 in Ibaraki Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Manaka learned to play soccer on the school team at Iwai Nishi High School . He signed his first contract with Sumitomo Metal in 1989 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League Division 2. With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Sumitomo Metal became the Kashima Antlers . With the club he became Japanese champions in 1996 and 1998 . In 1997 he won the J.League Cup and the Kaiserpokal with the club . For the club he completed 135 games. In 1999 he moved to league rivals Cerezo Osaka . In 2001 he reached the final of the Imperial Cup. At the end of the 2001 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2002 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and was promoted to the J1 League . For the club he completed 106 games. In August 2003 he moved to the second division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima . In 2003 he was runner-up in the J2 League with this club and was promoted to the J1 League. In July 2004 he moved to the second division Yokohama FC . At the end of 2004 he ended his career as a soccer player.
