Yaw-yan

Yaw-Yan (sometimes also Yawyan) is the short form for Sayaw ng Kamatayan , a term from the Tagalog which translates as the dance of death. It belongs to the so-called Filipino Martial Arts and was developed by Napoleon Fernandez.

Unlike Arnis / Kali / Eskrima , this is a mainly unarmed form of combat.

Yaw-Yan is a type of kickboxing and related to Muay Thai , but differs from it in the rotation of the hips and mainly in the type of kicks. In addition, grappling and throwing techniques are trained.

Tournaments

In the Philippines , Yaw-Yan fighters usually take part in mixed martial arts tournaments such as the Universal Reality Combat Championship or Fearless Fighting. part.
