The Geni Tzami ( Greek Γενί Τζαμί ) or Yeni Cami ( Turkish 'new mosque' ) is a former mosque in Thessaloniki , Greece .

The Italian architect Vitaliano Poselli built the building in 1902 on behalf of the Dönme ( crypto-Jewish kabbalistic religious community) of Thessaloniki in the style of eclecticism . Until the Peace of Bucharest in 1913, the city was mainly Ottoman and Jewish. Since the last dönme emigrated to Turkey because of the population exchange between Greece and Turkey, the building was used as an archaeological museum from 1925. In 1962 the Archaeological Museum moved into a new building, the building is now used as an exhibition space.
