Yerú Pardiñas

Angel Yerú Pardiñas Salomón , short Yerú Pardiñas (born October 9, 1955 ) is a Uruguayan politician.

Pardiñas studied at the Universidad de la República (UdelaR) and graduated with a degree in agriculture. From July 28, 1980 to May 1991, he taught at the Escuela Agraria de Melo . From 1986 to 1992 he was responsible for the "Huerta y microtractores" project at PRODIR in Cerro Largo. After he worked as an advisor to the MP José Díaz , he was a lecturer at the agricultural faculty of the UdelaR from May 1993 to February 2010. From July 2005 to October 2008 he was also a member of the board of directors of the Instituto Nacional de Colonización .

Pardiñas, who currently (as of December 2011) also works as a columnist for the Internet news portal "Montevideo Portal", is the father of three children, Jerónimo, Anaclara and Zacarías, and is married to Andrea Viñas. He has been a member of the Partido Socialista del Uruguay since 1971 , of which he is currently (as of 2011) a member of the Central Committee ( Comité Central ) as well as the National Executive Committee ( Comité Ejecutivo Nacional ). He was also a member of both the National and the Departmental Convention of the Frente Amplio in 2004 and 2009 .

Initially going to Cerro Largo as a deputy Edil in the 1984 to 1989 electoral period, he also took up this function at the end of this period. For the legislative periods 1994 to 2000 and 2000 to 2005 he then worked as Edil. In the election to the Chamber of Deputies in 2009, Pardiñas, who ran for the lista 90, was elected to the Cámara de Representantes for the 2010-2015 term. There he represents the Department of Cerro Largo. In December 2011, the 47th Congress of the Socialist Party of Uruguay appointed him to succeed Eduardo "Lalo" Fernández as General Secretary of the Partido Socialista del Uruguay . Pardiñas also competed several times in the Intendant elections for Cerro Largo. In 2000 he made this attempt as the only candidate for the Encuentro Progresista-Frente Amplio , five years later he ran for the Encuentro Progresista-Frente Amplio-Nueva Mayoría , and in 2010 he finally did so as a representative of the Frente Amplio. However , he did not succeed in moving into the Intendencia Municipal as Intendente .
