Yervant Gianikian

Yervant Gianikian (* 1942 in Meran ) is an Italian filmmaker and video artist .

life and work

Yervant Gianikian attended the Armenian College in Venice as a child and studied architecture in Venice. In 1974 he met Angela Ricci Lucchi , who became his artist colleague and in 1975 his partner.

Gianikian is known for found footage films, which are created on the basis of existing film material by re-filming, arranging and coloring .
