Yi Lianhong

Yi Lianhong (Chinese: 易 炼 红; born September 1959 in Lianyuan , Hunan Province ) is a Chinese politician and the incumbent governor of Jiangxi Province . Originally from Hunan Province, Yi rose as an academic at the provincial party school; He later served as Yueyang Party Secretary and Changsha Party Secretary before being transferred to Shenyang .

Life

Yi Lianhong was born in Lianyuan District, Hunan Province. He was sent to the countryside as a youth in August 1976 to do manual labor in Guihua Township . After the Cultural Revolution , Yi attended Hunan Normal University and graduated in 1982 with a degree in economics . In July 1982 he became an instructor at Zhaoyang Basic College (邵阳 基础 大学). After several years of teaching, he attended Shaanxi Normal University to continue his studies in economics. In June 1985, he joined the Chinese Communist Party .

After completing his master's degree in 1987, Yi was transferred to the Hunan Party School, where he taught economics. In 1990, he worked as an administrator for a chemical factory in Zhuzhou . In January 1992, he joined the Science and Technology Research Bureau of the Hunan Party School. In September 1994 he became assistant to the president of the party school. In September 1995 he was promoted to vice president of the party school.

In May 2004, Yi was named Yueyang party leader, his first foray into regional leadership. In November 2011, he was inducted into the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party, and one month later he assumed the office of General Secretary.

In May 2013, Yi was named party leader in Changsha. In July 2017, he was transferred to Shenyang to become party leader. In May 2018, he became Liaoning Province deputy party leader .

After only two months as Liaoning Deputy Party Leader, Yi was appointed Jiangxi Party Deputy Party leader in August 2018 and the province's governor in August 2018.

Yi has written several papers on economics, agriculture and his tenure in Yueyang.
