The Yiddish Art Theater (German Jiddisches Kunsttheater ) was a Yiddish theater in New York from 1918 to 1958.

In 1918 the American-Jewish actor Maurice Schwartz founded the Yiddish Art Theater in the previous Irving Place Theater in New York. A year later he founded an acting school at the theater.

The theater played plays in Yiddish by authors such as Scholem Alejchem , Israel Joshua Singer , Salomon Anski ( Der Dibbuk ), Moshe Lifshits , Perez Hirschbein , but also by William Shakespeare , and others. a. A total of around 150 different productions were performed.

In 1924 and 1936 the theater made guest tours to Europe, in 1929 to South America. In 1958 the theater had to close.
