Yie Ar Kung-Fu is an arcade and computer game that was developed by Konami in 1985 . It was very popular and has been ported to the most popular home computers.
Game description
The player takes on the role of Oolong (black dragon, is also a type of tea ) and has to defeat a total of eleven opponents. The game has two different levels (Hot Fighting and Master Hand History). A yellow arrow appears under the playing figure, which shows the direction of the fight. The game is relatively difficult and requires very quick reactions. The design of the characters is in the Manga style and corresponds to that of other Konami games. The pawn jumps often and very high; there are many different attack techniques. The player must fight without weapons.
The graphics in the MSX and NES versions are completely different. There the fights take place in a building, in the other versions outside, it starts in front of a waterfall.
The SID music of the C64 version comes from Martin Galway .

particularities
Yie Ar Kung-Fu was the first fighting game in which the player has to compete against individual and increasingly strong and different opponents. This principle was later adopted by Street Fighter and other games.
In addition, this game is the first to see the use of an energy bar that decreases due to enemy hits, which also only became popular again in later games such as Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter.
