Yitzchak Waknin

Yitzchak Waknin ( Hebrew יצחק וקנין; * May 12, 1958 ) is an Israeli politician of the Sephardic - ultra-orthodox Shas party.

Life

Yitzchak Waknin worked as a civil servant in local government. From 1982 to 1987 he was in the administration of Gornot HaGalil ( Hebrew גָּרְנוֹת הַגָּלִיל) worked from 1988 to 1996 in the administration of Ja'ara ( Hebrew יַעֲרָה) at Ma'alot and from 1988 to 1993 in the administration of Mo'aza Asorit Ma'aleh Josef ( Hebrew מועצה אזורית מעלה יוסף), a regional association between Ma'alot and Schelomi .

From August 5, 1999 to July 11, 2000, he was Deputy Minister of Communications as a member of the Shas . As a member of the Shas, he was Deputy Minister of Welfare from May 2, 2001 to May 20, 2002 and from June 3, 2002 to February 28, 2003 . Since January 1, 2019, he has been Minister of Religious Services .

Waknin is married and has five children.
