Yngve Rosqvist

Yngve Rosqvist (born November 2, 1929 in Skurup , †  May 8, 2004 in Malmö , Sweden ) was a Swedish engineer and racing driver .

Life

Yngve Rosqvist was married to the future Swedish rally driver Ewy Rosqvist since 1954 .

Motorsport career

Rosqvist began his motorsport career as an enduro , speedway and rally driver . At the end of the 1950s he switched to rallying.

In 1954 he and his wife Ewy took part in the Svenska Rallyt till Midnattssolen (rally midnight sun, later renamed the Midnattssolsrallyt) and finished 150th overall.

In 1962 he took part in the first edition of the Swedish Formula Junior and won the Swedish championship. In 1962 he won various Formula 2 races and was again Swedish champion. From this year he took part in various international Formula Junior and Formula 3 races. In 1963 he was fourth in the Swedish championship and in 1965 Swedish runner-up in Formula 3. In 1967 he took part in various Grand Prix races on a Lola T70 and was third at the Swedish GP. In 1968 he entered the Le Mans 24-hour race , also in a Lola T70, but did not start.
