The company Yokogawa Denki KK ( Japanese 横河 電機 株式会社 , Yokogawa Denki Kabushiki kaisha , English Yokogawa Electric Corp. ), listed in the Nikkei 225 , is a Japanese manufacturer of test and measuring devices as well as systems for automatic production in Musashino , Tokyo Prefecture , west of Tokyo . It was founded on September 1, 1915. Of the 84 plants in 33 countries around the world, there are three in Germany: Ratingen (since 1989), Wehr (since 1991) (Rota Yokogawa, formerly Rota, founded in 1909) and Herrsching am Ammersee (since 1994). The first branch in Germany was opened in Düsseldorf in 1956. Yokogawa employs over 20,000 people, 230 of them in Germany, and had 2008 sales of 376.5 billion yen .
