York Hovest (* 1978 in Wesel ) is a German documentary , advertising and fashion photographer .

York Hovest lives in Munich and takes photos worldwide. He met the Dalai Lama in 2011 and promised him to create a documentary about Tibet . He then traveled to Tibet for a hundred days on foot, on a motorcycle and by car and captured the impressions of the trip on photos and films. In addition to landscapes, he also shows portraits of Tibetan nomads and monks in impressive pictures, thus reflecting the spirit of this country.
